My WHY…

After sustaining almost life-ending injuries in a severe car accident 10 years ago,

fractures to my lower back, my neck, tibia, fibula and femur. I snapped my Achilles and sustained soft tissue injuries, severe neurological injuries, with the first noticeable thing being a weakness that would affect the whole left side of my body.

my life was suddenly and dramatically changed. I had spent the last few years of my life living the dream as a pro surfing and Body Boarding videographer without much care in the world. Now I was at a standstill.

I’m not here to start a sob story, nor do I want any sympathy. I want people to learn about the challenges I faced and how I overcame them to find “MY WHY”.

Post-accident I faced months of long, strenuous and painful rehabilitation to basically learn to be human again. Through this journey, I was introduced to CrossFit as a form of rehabilitation which became my main inspiration and passion.

It became my vision to rehabilitate and save people the way I had been saved.  

Here CrossFit Plus was born. To me, it was all about inspiring people and sharing my core values and beliefs with them – to show people how to bring strength into their own lives. My vision was to pass on my knowledge, expertise and inspiration to others, changing another’s life for the best.

CrossFit Plus, We didn’t start like many business/ companies do. We started with a handful of good people who wanted to improve their fitness and trusted our system, utilising our surroundings in an outdoor training environment. Eventually, we grew a large enough client list to actually move into a warehouse that became our training facility.

I even started my own running group, that to this day still continues to operate. By this stage, it was all about inspiring people and sharing my core values and beliefs with them – to show people how to bring strength into their own lives. My vision was to pass on my knowledge, expertise and inspiration to others, changing other’s life for the best.

An environment that is as inclusive as possible. In this way, we can bring the masses to CrossFit (the method of fitness we believe in so highly) and fitness in general – and change lives by doing so.

I love what I do every day, helping create incredible humans and leading them on their own fitness journey to be the best possible version of themselves. We are all in this together.
